Naranjo is an "Orange" style wine due to the contact with the skins for several days; when we saw the color for the first time during its winemaking process, we were amazed by its hue and someone exclaimed: wow, what an Orange! And to this day, the name stays with us.

Origin

Vineyard located on our estate in Gratallops, in the heart of the Priorat region. These vines grow among slopes and terraces on the edge of the Siurana River. The vines that produce this wine are over 25 years old on average. The soil is made up of "Licorella," a slate with little organic matter and low water retention. For this reason, the vines have low yields, around 500/750 grams per plant.

Tasting note

Medium-layer orange color. High aromatic intensity with stone fruits such as peach, almond blossom, marzipan, and candied lemon. On the palate, it shows great volume and body, with an excellent balance between alcohol content, acidity, and flavor intensity. Well-integrated wood aging. Long and balanced finish, with a pleasant aftertaste.

Vinification

Spontaneous fermentation with yeasts present on the skins in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. Maceration together with the skins for 16 days. Once fermentation is complete, aging in a single 500-liter French oak barrel for 7.5 months. Wine is unfiltered and unclarified. No added sulfites. Very limited production.
